Sweet Georgia Brown

Cheryl Robinson will be joining us on Writers in the Sky Podcast January 25th, 2008!

Cheryl Robinson, born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, graduated from Wayne State University with a degree in business marketing. Prior to landing her book deal with New American Library (NAL), a division of the Penguin Group based in New York, Cheryl self-published two novels, Memories of Yesterday (2002) and When I Get Free (2003). In the fall of 2003 Cheryl came one step closer to her dream of writing full-time after signing with a Los Angeles based literary agent who quickly inked a two-book deal for her with The Penguin Group/New American Library for If It Ain’t One Thing (February 2005) and its sequel, It’s Like That (February 2006). In 2007, Cheryl’s very sexy novella, “Strapped,” appeared in AVON Red’s first African American Erotic Anthology, These Are My Confessions, and now she’s back with another bestseller, Sweet Georgia Brown, released January 2, 2008! Cheryl currently resides in South Florida and is working on her next book to be released next year.

Below is the synopsis for Sweet Georgia Brown.

After eleven years of marriage, Georgia Brown is fed up with her husband, Marvin, a popular radio personality. It's not just because she suspects he's having an affair, or because she's suddenly expected to raise his thirteen-year-old daughter, Chloe-whom she never even knew existed. It's because of the comments he makes about her weight, their marriage, and their sex life...on national radio! Now, to save their marriage, Marvin invites Georgia to the station for an on-air rebuttal, having no idea it will launch her career. Or that what began as a battle at home will now be a blistering war for all to hear.
