What is a Podcast?

Podcasts are pre-recorded teleclasses, seminars, or audio workshops which are offered through or other services where people go to find music, movies, audio books, etc. Podcasts can be saved on an mp3 player, an iPod, a computer, or any devise that plays mp3 files, but unlike music and video downloads most podcasts are free.

Once someone finds a podcast they enjoy, they may subscribe to that particular RSS (real simple syndication) feed. Doing so will automatically send them an email every time a new file is uploaded to that podcast. The recipient may respond by going to the web to download the new program.

Podcasts have become popular entertainment and educational tools for busy people. As an educational tool for people who want to learn more about the craft and business of writing, publishing and book publicity, Writers in the Sky Podcast is an excellent choice. This show offers interviews with authors and writers, as well as the latest news about books on the market, publishing methods and marketing techniques. There are more than 120 informational shows on the blog at A new program is offered each week.

Many of the guests on the show contribute informative articles and announcements to the monthly newsletter offered by Writers in the Sky Creative Writing Services. The best part is there is no cost to listen or subscribe and it is a great way to learn more about writing and publishing.
