As I was preparing a speech last week, I realized a lot of the advice in the Toastmasters manual applied to the written word as well:

http://zacheverson.com/2006/09/06/tips-from-toastmasters-that-will-improve-your-writing/Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33557474.post-1157990214698107792006-09-11T10:56:00.000-05:002006-09-11T10:56:00.000-05:00Who isn't afraid of public speaking? By applying Toastmaster tools and practicing frequency, I overcame the crippling fear associated with public speaking. That doesn't totally dismiss the cloud of butterflies on the walk to the podium but once there, it is easier to take a deep breath, smile at the faces smiling at you, relax and enjoy giving them your best speech!

More gifts awaited.

1) I met Yvonne at a Toastmasters conference one beautiful fall day in the Smokey Mountains.
2) My circle of friends widened to include those dear, like-minded Toastmasters.
3) I discovered how very much I enjoy speech writing.
4) I always learn something and have fun.

Come visit sometime. Call me at 394-1770 if you are interested.

Barbara Sharp
WRITE-ON Team MemberAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15528955027208100034noreply@blogger.com
